Borage

(Borage officianalis) Brought to the US from Europe by early settlers, Borage is traditionally used both medicinally and in cooking. The flowers are edible and add a pretty blue to salads and other dishes along with a peppery bite. Pretty in the garden, Borage feeds bees and will produce lots of bright blue blooms throughout the summer. Pretty in the historic herb or kitchen garden. 1-2 feet. Full sun. Plant seeds in warm conditions. Re-seeding annual. 25+ seeds.
