Golden Bantam was selected for and maintained as an early yellow sweet corn variety by William Chambers from Massachusetts. After trials and seed production, it was named and released for sale by the Burpee Seed Co. in 1902. Plants are just 5-6 feet tall and productive in the northern home garden.
