Sensitive Plant - Mimosa

(Mimosa pudica) Grown for entertainment value in US gardens since the 1700s, the Sensitive Plant actually reacts to touch by rapidly folding its leaves which then droop from the stem. Thomas Jefferson grew these in the Monticello garden beds. Sensitive Plants may also be grown as houseplants. Pink spherical blooms appear in mid summer, followed by seed pods. Part-Full sun, or bright indoor light (if grown as a houseplant) - Grow as Annual - 1-2 feet - 20+ seeds.
